Cache is a French film where the subtitles don't get in the way of your enjoyment of the film if you normally shy away from foreign films. A lot of times you are watching a stationary shot and you're not sure why. It turns out to be a very effective technique for building suspense.
Basically a local TV celebrity is receiving surveillance videotapes of himself. It's a start of a mystery that is very engrossing. Unfortunately for myself, it did not conclude in a way that paid off. I think that was part of the point of the film. Still for 95% of the film I enjoyed it and it wasn't one of those endings where it has a ridiculous reason for everything and you hate the whole movie for it. |
